The service was not typical for National at the Panama City Airport location. No availability for counter bypass, long wait to be greeted (or lack thereof) with a Rep that had very limited or no customer service skills.
The wait time to receive a vehicle was well over a half an hour. A car was presented and it had not been cleaned or washed. There was trash present inside ( cups, empty water bottles and paper trash ). The alternative was to wait for the vehicle to be cleaned. We had a specific timeline and that wasn't an option on this trip. As we proceeded with the vehicle we notice a promenant smoke smell in the vehicle labeled none smoking.
I wasn't happy with the customer service. The vehicle was tiny and had a foul odor. The rental agent was not very accommodating. I will probably not rent from National at this location. It's too bad because I travel to this location often.
reserved a car weeks in advance of my arrival. was told that the only vehicle on their lot was a pick up truck, which i didn't need or want. was advised that i could wait for another vehicle, but they did not know how many hours the wait would be. staff explained that since it was summer, they were busier than usual. one would think that they were aware that summer was coming (it tends to occur yearly) and would be prepared. I rent from this national location regularly, and have never had a similar problem
Overall the experience was poor. Surly not what we are accustom to with National.
Always easy to walk right up the counter and get your keys. The car was a premium one and suited our needs great (the big trunk was key). Great customer service as well.
Waited 1.5 hrs for a vehicle. Not the vehicle I had reserved but would have taken a 1972 Gremlin after 1.5 hrs. Employees were very polite.
