It was closed when the bus arrived 4 hours late. Nothing near. Not even a bathroom.
Had to go pick up our friend. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked, bus was on time.
This was by far the worst experience I've had with a Greyhound bus station. We arrived 15 minutes before the bus was to depart. The first thing I noticed was an angry looking driver, shouting loud while being rude to the passengers coming out of the ticket center. The ticket clerk was not behind the counter like he should have been, because he's helping the bus drivers with the passengers luggage, who also kept ignoring my husband who told him he needed to check in his bags. The clerk finally got behind the counter after the bus driver got behind the wheel of the bus. The bus driver honked the horn at my husband to say hurry before I leave you. When I looked at the time on my cellphone again, I noticed there was still 7 minutes before the bus takes off. Long story short, the driver did not wait one minute after honking the horn, even when he saw my husband (only person at the counter, and myself next to him, and someone who was waiting on their ride) luggage getting checked it, driver still left 7 minutes before departure. I was beyond upset. The clerk gonna have the nerves too say we were supposed to be there 30 minutes early like the ticket said. I want to know if that was the justification for him not being behind the counter when he was supposed to, and if is a justification why the driver left my husband. The distance from the passenger pick-up and the clerk's window is literally like 5 to 7 foot steps at this Fort Walton Beach terminal. I forgot the driver's name because is uncommon being that he looks Korean or something. I had to drive my husband all the way to Pensacola's terminal, for his next pick up, and u made it before the bus did. He was still looking angry and just acting rude towards the passengers for no reason at all. When he saw us he could not believe it, his facial changed. I did not give him a piece of my mind because my husband and many other passengers depended on whatever little sanity he was working with, and all I had up say to him could have clogged his judgement further. Is been over a month ago, and I'm just now seen this suggestion to give me feedback on that visit, and with all I've already wrote, it shows that is like it happened yesterday. I hope this man retires from driving because he looks like a heart attack waiting to happen, seriously. When I looked up this Greyhound online, and read the reviews, I understood why when it then happened to us.
the old grey dog = frequently late, dated equipment, dead end stations, overworked & underpaid staff, capitalism at its worst.more fun to walk or hitch... Megabus is by far superior
Thank you for patiently reading.
The station itself is plenty fine. Decent and rather close by from Lynn Haven, as well. Very helpful staff. If you're transporting goods, however, I will have to urge you to refrain from sending ANYTHING fragile. IT WILL BE BROKEN!
