This is not my 1st bad experience with this hospital and I would highly recommend an alternative such as gulf coast if given the option.
Dr Nunnery called in a couple of prescriptions for possible infections and pain. My finger has been feeling better every day and I had my first follow up appointment today and everything was looking wonderful.
The ER staff put me in the fast track which I really appreciated. Dr Phillip Nunnery was at the hospital and entered the ER to examine my finger. His vast experience enabled him to diagnose the finger and told me that by cutting my finger off to the first joint would be the best path to person. He looked at me and said, “If I had this mangled finger, that is what I would want. He was very detailed oriented and stitched my blood vein to stop further bleeding. I don’t know what the numbing injection was but I was happy because I felt nothing. He put in in the hospital overnight and said we would perform the surgery in the morning.
The entire organization is ignorant & lacks professionalism.
After little more than one hour in the emergency department she was released.
At no time did any admin people appear rude or like they were doing you a favor. They were checking on me to ensure all was ok and it was. No one came up to me and demanded money or anything. Everyone made me feel that I made the right choice for the ER.
A standard workup was performed upon our arrival to the hospital. Despite our concerns regarding her altered mental status & odd behavior the staff in the emergency Room blatantly disregarded the possibility of a concussion or maybe even something more serious. We made the nursing staff and doctors aware that she could not maintain her balance, had a persistent headache & could hardly form sentences at-times sounding incoherent.
This has been my worst experience, very unprofessional and poor knowledge from staff. I feel stereotyped and not taken seriously. I had to call in order to get my referrals ( you guys should tell the patient that you can’t do anything for them the day of the visit) and nothing was filed. Triage is awful and you guys should know what patients are there for legitimate reasons and what patients are there for other intentions, not generalize and put everyone in the same category. I feel lost and pushed aside. I just moved here from San Diego California and have never experienced this before. Every single patient should be treated with the same care, respect and try to resolve the issue right there and then instead of sending them home and hope for the best. This is how people fall through the cracks. I also called today to cancel my appointment, spoke with 2 employees and they both said that I called the wrong department, one of them was an operator that transferred me to outpatient surgery. They seem lost and untrained. So now I don’t know where to call to cancel my appointment.
My family member was in severe pain, could barely move, so I rushed him to the hospital. Upon arrival, he was placed in a room and was told they would FIND a nurse. When we asked where was the nurse AND the doctor, we were informed the nurse may be on lunch, and the doctor is probably sitting at his desk. Due to the severity of pain we asked to bypass the nurse and requested the presence of the doctor immediately. After about 15 minutes the doctor finally came in, seen there was no IV hooked up yet, no labs drawn NOTHING! So the doctor asked a few question - 30 seconds worth - and left the room. A chest x-ray, a CT scan, and a blood draw was completed. After a hour and half, a discharge nurse walks in the room (first person we seen since the patient returned from the CT scan) and started to go over discharge instructions. Mind you we still have not seen a doctor for a diagnosis at this point. I politely interrupted her and demanded for a doctor to come and go over his findings from all the test. Another 25 minutes pass, and he finally comes in to tell us he had a kidney stone and was fine to go home. I requested a copy of all the reports from the tests that were done. After reading the report it clearly stated there were SEVERAL kidney stones....and of course there was no explanation to us for anything. The doctor had no desire to talk to us, it was apparent that he was leaving it up to the discharge nurse to do everything. The staff was very rude, the bed sheets were tapped in several places because of the rips, and extra tubes of the patients blood was place on the keyboard that still sat there when we left! And this is just a few reasons as to why we will never return. I recommend anyone reading the reviews that are trying to decide what hospital you should choose....please reconsider if this is an option. I don't want anyone to experience what my family did today.
Worst experience EVER! I only gave a one star because a ZERO star was not an option!
Here we sit in the emergency department in another state where our concerns are being addressed with the seriousness the situation deserves...With the proper testing being performed, the diagnoses of a traumatic brain injury confirmed our suspicions...
My girlfriend and I were involved in a rather serious motor vehicle accident earlier this evening. We bowl sustained moderate injuries but she on the other hand was a little more critical than me.
The next morning, Dr Nunnery was able to remove the skin and bone required and the surgery lasted under 30 minutes.
My opinion for Bay Medical and Dr Nunnery is very high and very professional.
I would have loved to give it 0 stars but unfortunately that was not an option...
The only negative item was the first assistant attempted to connect an IV but missed both times. The second attempt was the most pain I felt and made my eyes cross but a more experience nurse took over and everything was great from that time on. Even though I had gone through a lot that day, the ER staff and Dr Nunnery were the best !

This was at approximately 4:00 p.m. After returning to our home town her symptoms became worse & her lack of motor skills proved to pose a danger to her personal safety.
The vehicle we were driving is a total loss & aside from the cuts, scrapes and contusions sustained by both of us she was exhibiting signs and symptoms of a possible traumatic brain injury.
I got out of this cesspool 24 hours ago, with 3 Insulin prescriptions that " You need to get filled and started on immediately." Waiting now for a call back to see if they will ever straighten out the 2 prescriptions that cannot be filled as written. A filthy hospital with a hardworking, and overworked nursing staff, a very well hidden doctor's staff, and an absolutely non-existent patient care staff. I have pages more, Just don't feel like it right now. I had to give them one star before I could post this. HA!! what a sad joke!
This is very concerning as she was told by hospital staff that she could resume her normal activities and had we trusted the word of the so called medical professionals And not closely monitored her there's no telling what dangers she could have posed to herself and others...
On October 30, 2017, I had my finger get slammed in a car doors. I looked and a large amount of flesh had been severed from left middle finger. The ER staff was very professional and even though I was losing blood on a towel that I had brought from home hoping to somehow stop the bleeding.
