Well, first of all, I will say upfront that Dr. Kamel and the girl who assisted in my thyroid biopsy were exceptional. Also, the receptionist is always nice. HOWEVER, I can't get past these issues and I won't go back: ARNP Ashli...I got more education and information from WebMD. She assumes and judges. Also, she will not treat your symptoms if your numbers fall in the "normal" range. I had biopsy and she just said, " it came back normal." She didn't review my medical hx or prior blood work and had no clue why I was there and didn't bother to ask. She assumed that I wanted a quick fix to my weight gain. I had to tell her that my antibodies are elevated. She doesn't think out of the box for patients that aren't a cookie cutter diagnosis. Also, they will not tell you test results over the phone even if it comes back "normal." They want you to come in so you can pay them just to tell you it came back normal. Ripoff.
Needless to say, I left. Upon coming home, I called my insurance company and they verified there was a mixup, but had the billing lady made mention of the new plan number and not the member number, it would have been taken care of then and I would have been fine. The back office staff are lazy, incompetent and useless. I would never recommend going here and this was my first visit there. I will drive the extra 3 miles to the other doctor's office that was recommended to me. Just notice that I'm rating them a 1 star, and they already have a 3 star rating.... Doesn't say very much about this office going forward.
Never got to meet the doctor, he never came out and talked to me about any of this and they required the payment of $188 up front. They wouldn't even bill me.
The best endocrine practice in the area no doubt. I called them even in the evening sick . They answered me after hours and got me in the hospital and visited me in the hospital every day . They are easily accessible and available to their patients 24/7 . They allow you to walk in if you have a problem . I haven't seen many specialists as easily accessible as them .
I handed them my new card and they called to verify again. The billing lady called, used the same member number, made no mention of the new plan and again came back and said I had to pay.
I came for a biospy of my thyroid . I have to say I did not feel any pain . I had a biopsy another place before and it was traumatizing . So I was very scared . Dr. Kamel and his assistants are awesome . They made me feel really comfortable and they were right . It went very well .
The receptionist is very friendly and helpful and I would recommend her to work anywhere. Nothing here was her fault. It's the billing department and their operating standards. I got a new insurance plan, but it's through the same provider. I had never gone to this doctor before and I gave them my plan number right off my insurance card. They called to verify insurance and stated I did have insurance through them, however it was showing my old plan still and I would have to pay a $188 visit fee or pay the balance on my current insurance. I explained, through my new plan, I pay nothing out of pocket each month and I owe nothing. She then asked me for a copy of a credit card statement showing that I had paid my insurance balance or premiums. I was appalled. How can someone so dumb work in healthcare and be handling the company finances? I explained again, I pay nothing out of pocket and thus I owe nothing and would not have a credit card statement showing I paid anything to anyone.
This is the best clinic in the area. I was referred by my family doctor . I used to have a bad diabetes and never was able to control it. First of all , this is the most beautiful facility in the area . You enter the clinic through glass doors and there are aquariums in the lobby . Beautiful water falls behind the reception . The reception lady greeted me with a smile. This is the only clinic I have been to that use a system to call me very privately . I appreciated this . Very relaxing lobby . The doctor came to my room and was very informative and explained everything to me nicely. He promised they would get me in control within 3 visits and they did . The education I received there is unmatched . I recommend to everyone . I referred my family the second visit I went there and they all received the same good treatment
Horrible place. Do not go here unless you want to pay big $$$. I made an appointment. Went in. First off the place is tiny. The waiting room is actually 2 separate rooms. The first part has 3 chairs and is 3 feet from the reception window. The second room has couches, but they are old and worn out leather. The couches are literally falling apart.
