Dr Desilva is a brilliant doctor and while his bedside manner isn't as bright as his mind, I love him.
I HATED my whole experience with him. I had to have TWO surgeries due to contracting MRSA. He wants to see you 3 times a week but does not do dressing changes, prescribe pain meds or give a crap. Three times a week to take insurance money to check my BP. Two years later and I am still in pain and I'd sooner die then be treated by him again, in fact I am going to Jacksonville for the consult. I spoke to Misty is his office 4/21/17 asking for a copy of my records, said I needed to sign a release, no she could not fax it me so I drove to the hospital parking of the damned to sign the release only to be told then I could NOT have my records they were at the hospital, she would send the release Monday, the Friday pick up was already gone. I called the records department Monday and very nice lady said if it came in Mondays batch I would have by Tuesday. Today 4/27/17, Thursday, and Misty has YET to sent the signed release. I had ZERO problems getting records from HealthSouth or Tender Touch (Home health care facility), NONE, but for some reason Dr. DeSilva and his staff continue to not care about their patients. I am also writing the CEO of Bay Medical Center, if this is the best they can do for Chief of Neurology, I have zero confidence in their other departments. FYI I had a severe fracture in my back and sat in a wheelchair in the waiting room of the ER after being dropped off by EMS for EIGHT hours.
My wife, Joy, had two trauma brain bleeds due to an accident. Doctor Desilva took good care of her while in the hospital. She is out and doing great!!!!!
The staff was very rude to me. Will never go back to his office..
