Great people to deal with. The mechanic Chester helped us out of a jam and didn't even charge us for what he did. I will go back there to have my vehicles fixed and tell everyone I know to go there.
UPDATE: I gave a review a few months ago. This will be my 3rd time taking my car back to this establishment within a span of 6 months, after I've paid $1600 to get my transmission rebuilt. My car broke down in the middle of the road this time, so since I've already taken it back to A1 about 2 months ago, I assumed there was some other problem. I got my car towed to a BETTER establishment to do a diagnostic and guess what's wrong with the car? The transmission, again. When I called A1 the owner told me he had no idea who I was and if I didn't have my original paperwork from November, he wouldn't help me. I have no other transportation to work. What makes it even worse is halfway through our conversation (after telling me his computer was down) he miraculously told me that he had all of my information and that I would STILL probably not get my car repaired if I can't find my paperwork. My stepfather called the next day, he was given ABSOLUTELY no trouble and whoever he spoke with said they would tow my car from the other place and get the repair done. If I had money to take my car anywhere else I would but I have a year warranty for the work these crooks claimed to do on my transmission so I have to wait again, for which will probably be weeks & I'm confident that my car will break down again for a 4th time when they're done.
I wish I would have read these reviews before I took my truck to these shysters. It went in for a rear main oil seal and wound up putting a crank shaft in it that wasn't needed. They messed up my AC and did something to my trans, now it doesn't work. They went thru 4 so called mechanics and every thing they did was screwed up. Had my truck for almost 5 mos. Never did get it right so I just took the truck out of there and am still trying to fix their poor workmanship. All they did was tell me lies. Do not recommend this shop.
If it were possible to rate this place with 0 stars I would but unfortunately it isn't. I worked here for Jeff. I handled his car lot car repairs and inspections as well as took care of the general retail work (everything non transmission related). Jeff is a liar and a thief. I can tell you first hand a repair job for one person will cost someone else a different price even if it's the same vehicle with the same issue. Jeff looks at customers who have more money than others as a payday. Chester (the transmission builder) has a bad habit of using used parts to rebuild transmissions with. Over the course of the 5 horrible months I was employed with A1 I saw literally every transmission rebuild come back in with some kind of problem. Jeff finally told me one day that there was no work and he'd have to make me part time and he'd let me know when to come into work. At this point I started putting in applications elsewhere only to run into another tech who used to work there that informed me that Jeff had done him the same way about a year prior. Jeff is crooked and untrustworthy. A1 transmissions is incompetent and does shoddy work. Avoid thus place at all costs unless you want to just give your money away without getting proper service. I don't usually leave reviews for any business but after being lied to and strung along for a month I have no choice but to expose this place for the fraudulent business that it really is. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Horrible experience with this "company". I originally had my transmission "rebuilt" by them in October of last year (2016). Today is March 30,2017. My car stopped running 2 weeks ago because it was rebuilt incorrectly. They failed to replace one of the parts. My car has been sitting at their establishment for TWO weeks and every time I call, I get a different answer for when I'll be able to pick my car up. I paid these CROOKS $1600.00 5 months ago and they did not fix my car. The owner (Jeff) is one of the rudest individuals I've ever had to do business with. He treats me as if I don't matter at all, and as if it's an inconvenience to him when I ask when I can pick my car up. I will never do any business of any sort with this shop again in life and I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. You can ask ANYONE in this town about their service, we all agree. They are horrible. I am more than disappointed. If I don't get my car back tomorrow (after the 4th rescheduled pick up date) I will be taking legal action against this company. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE.
