I started using this bank when I first moved to Florida, 2 years ago. At that time the people were friendly and I felt as though I had made a good choice. Since the economy has taken its recent downturn however things have drastically changed. Most of the employees are new and their service has become unbelievably RUDE. I have 5 accounts there, one of which is a personal savings account. I received a letter a few months ago stating that only 6 internet/telephone transfers are allowed to be made from this account each month. I guess that I exceeded this limit for a second time because I just received another letter claiming that this is a Federal regulation. That's fine, I guess I can deal with that if it is in fact a regulation. I'll be more careful in the future but I WILL NOT do business any longer with a bank that sends their customers a letter that states "Your account has exceeded this amount for a second time. Please accept this letter as final notification that as a financial institution we will be forced to change your account type if further VIOLATIONS occur". Is this a bank that is supposed to provide a very personalized service or some kind of an institution for juvenile offenders?

Admittedly, I make mistakes every now and then, I am a small business owner that is extremely busy and sometimes things get overlooked but I do not think that making too many transfers from one account to another or infrequently forgetting to make a transfer warrants this kind of treatment, especially from a business that has been selected by an individual to provide their banking services.

Over the past year we have seen some rough times financially and almost all of us have been affected in one way or another. People are losing their homes and businesses. Credit card companies and other lenders have become unethical and unprofessional. This is not the time for a business that provides such a personal service to businesses and individuals that are already in a difficult financial situation to make things worse by becoming non personal and just plain rude. I feel that the way businesses are acting during these times is a good indication of their true values and if these are the values of Prosperity Bank it is time to find another bank.

I have experienced things like this on several occasions over the past few months. About two months ago I made a mistake and forgot to make a transfer from my business to my personal account. Unfortunately, I do this about once every 6 to 8 months. I inevitably bounced a check. When I called to ask if they would please remove the overdraft fee I was told that they do not do that anymore - OK, it was my mistake, I'll deal with it, but I still thought that with the amount of funds that I kept in their bank at the time they should have done something. Oh, and let's not forget the new recording when you call the bank, it does thank you for calling Prosperity Bank right before ORDERING you to "STOP" in an extremely rude manner.
