Right now I'm watching a delivery employee outside smoking talking to another delivery employee (ummm hello, you walked out with pizzas, why aren't you delivering them immediately?!) complaining that someone keeps taking the wrong orders out for delivery so his last order had to be remade and is super late.
Always takes at least an hour for delivery. One time it took over two hours. Food was cold and drinks were warm. 30-40 minute for carry out. This isn't a one time mistake, this is every single time I order. I've stopped ordering there completely because the service never gets better. Sucks, because it's good pizza. Maybe they should hire more staff to handle the business or shorten their delivery range..
We once tried to have it delivered and the guy "couldn't find the place" so he gave up. Didn't call the number I had left with the reservation, nothing. He literally just took the pizza back to the store. So after twice the wait we were given, we called the store and found out what had happened. After 2 other similar instances I stick to carry out. (The time is still never right, though.)
So I ordered online, and was given an estimate of 15-25 mins. I arrive at 20 mins to a parking lot full of staff taking a break. I walk in and wait to be greeted since again everyone was on break. Once greeted I was told my order was not ready even though it was now 30 mins after I ordered. Another 10 mins go by and another angry customer starts asking questions and when I join in, I'm told my order had been ready this whole time. I guess between the breaks and all everything got confused. Either way, horrible customer service as they laughed at us because we were upset we had been waiting due to their lack of care or responsibility.
I don't have qualms with the quality of the food...but they are always SOOOO slow. The time quotes over the phone and online are always underestimated. "30-40min" will absolutely be an hour.
This has to be the worst Papa John's location I've ever been to. Unfortunately, it's the only one in the area so we're stuck with it.

They can be slow, and your order may be delayed during peak times, however I have never had an incorrect order.
I used to very much enjoy Papa John's. That has changed, and not so much the Pizza as the service. The drivers are...odd. Telling family related horror stories, when you are polite and ask how are you, or trying to come into the house to pet animals, unsolicited. And to add to that 1 and 1/2 hours + for delivery. I can see 45 minutes to an hour on a busy night but 90+ minutes is just too much. We will be using Dominos or Hungry Howies from now on, they are fast, easy to deal with, and I don't mind paying a bit extra to not have to eat at 9 pm.
